Cavinton (Kavinton) Indications:
Acute and chronic disorders of cerebral circulation (transient ischemia, progressing stroke, completed stroke, a condition after stroke). Neurological and psychiatric disorders in patients with cerebrovascular insufficiency (memory impairment, dizziness, aphasia, apraxia, motor disorders, headache). Thinner and younger: calorie restriction reduces aging
Journal of the American College of Cardiology, January 17, 2006- Researchers from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis have shown that long term caloric restriction corrects the decline in diastolic function in humans proving that caloric restriction has a antiaging effect.
The studies also show that caloric restriction prevents diseases such as diabetes and atherosclerosis by decreasing inflammation.
In the study by researchers, the comparative analysis between caloric restricted(CR) diet and western diet(WD) was done. For 6.5 years, twenty five people were daily given CR diet of 1,671 calories and all the recommended daily nutrients. The calorie distribution was divided in 23 percent from protein, 49 percent from complex carbohydrates, 28 percent from fat, and 6 percent from saturated fat. The CR diet was low in sodium. Other twenty five WD diet people had approximately 2,445 calories per day with 17 percent from protein, 52 percent from carbohydrates, 31 percent from fat, and 11 percent from saturated fat. The researchers assessed the diastolic function to know the relaxation of heart between beats. Diastolic function was measured by trans mitral flow, Doppler tissue imaging and image processing of E waves. Other aging factors such as C reactive protein, tumour necrosis factor alpha, and transforming growth factor beta1 were also measured. The CR diet people had improved diastolic function, decreasing systemic inflammation and myocardial fibrosis. Thus the researchers concluded the benefits of CR diet on aging by improving cardiac performance and hearts functioned like that of much younger people.
There are societies called CR societies which have intake of restricted calories and optimal nutrition. The members of these societies are called CRONies (Calorie restriction with optimal nutrition). Research on CRONies suggest that they have more elastic hearts and relax as that of hearts of younger people.
